The first production Ford to wear the "Transit" name was built in 1953. The Ford Transit was then introduced in the US in 2015. The Transit has always been built by Ford. (Over 64 years under one label- Ford)

The Mercedes Sprinter was 1st created in 1995 in the European marketplace then introduced in the US in 2001. The Sprinter has been sold under the Mercedes-Benz, Dodge, Freightliner, and Volkswagen nameplates. In the U.S. it is built from complete knock down (CKD) kits by Freightliner. They are now primarily marketed by Mercedes-Benz. Rebadged and re-engined Sprinters were also sold by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles as the Volkswagen LT and the Volkswagen Crafter. (Over 22 years under many labels)
